MOSTO MAT is owned and controlled by Materia Hnos. S.A.C.I.F., a renowned oleochemicals producer company.
Materia Hnos. S.A.C.I.F. is owned by the Materia family, who came from Sicily, Italy, in 1949. In 1957 they founded the company, to produce soap and glycerine.
The company had great success commercializing these products, and in 1972 started to produce Distilled Fatty Acids (DFA) to manufacture the soap; the excess DFA was exported. The quality of the DFA was rewarded with worldwide acceptation.
That was the starting point for the oleochemical development of Materia Hnos. It had a strong boost in the '80s when large investments made this brilliant present a reality. Our oleochemicals have found a place in competitive markets such as the ones from USA, Japan, Germany, Holland, France, Great Britain, Brazil, Chile and all of Latin America.

In 1987 Materia Hnos. decided to invest in a new and different field: that of the Rectified Grape Juice Concentrate. The technology used (ion exchange) is the same that is used in the glycerine plant. The know-how was abundant because staff from the company had designed and operated the plant for over 20 years, and the challenge was exciting.
State-of-the-art technology was provided by Fratelli Gianazza, from Legnano, Milano, Italy, a worldwide leader in technology and know-how.
In 1993, after the installation of the plant was completed, MOSTO MAT S.A. started the production of Rectified Grape Juice Concentrate and Grape Juice Concentrate.
